Part 3 Fall Trends Based on your Style

So far we've talked a little about the Romantic Look and the Modern Retro look so today it's the Bohemian Look. Boho isn't the hole-y, half-grunge look made famous by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Ditch anything you've ever thought about Olsen-fashion (or NON-fashion) and instead think Sienna Miller. People Magazine attribute the modern Boho look with Sienna:
"She was instrumental in popularizing the boho look that we are seeing now--the cowboy boots with the peasant skirt, the low-slung belt over a tunic, the newsboy cap mixed with a pirate shirt.
Copying Sienna's look is simple and can be incorporated into your own style. First hair and makeup is simple. Second, think long, flowing, ruffled layers. Prairie skirts and cowboy boots. Denim and ruffled tops. I like to wear the skirt on the left with brown tights/leggings and cowboy boots, a brown layering shirt and another shirt/sweater on top. However, no Boho-Chic style is complete without with proper accessories. To finish off your Boho look add a few beaded necklaces or a skinny scarf and you are off and running! And don't forget the big sunglasses...the bigger the better!

Part 2 Fall Trends Based on Your Style

Modern Retro. Definitely sounds like an oxymoron, but really it's not. No one wants to completely resurrect the fashion failures of the past. Think crimped hair, linebacker shoulder pads, bras that come to a sharp point. Uhn-uh! What we want to see this season are graphic black and white prints, flat scrunched boots and A-line dresses. These styles are updated, tweaked to be revived into the modern look that fits todays fashions. Notice how the scrunch boots in the photo do not resemble the pirate-esque scrunch boot of the past? A perfect example of Modern Retro. These boots look great with leggings, and a long tunic or shorter dress.

For a dressier look you could try Diviine Modestee's MaKenna dress. With its color-block styling and its A-line silhouette this dress has the perfect taste of retro. Pair it with a great pair of heels and a chunky beaded necklace and you are perfectly read for work or play! One little fashion hint, however: please don't wear the scrunch boots with the dress, although if you must, choose the cream boots. :)
Next up...Bohemian style.

Fall Trends based on your Style

Each time the seasons change a new wave of trends hit the fashion scene and this fall is no exception. There are so many cute new items out there in the marketplace, how do you decide what trends to try and which to forgo? The answer is to find or select your fashion style and then pick the trendy items that coordinate with that style. Some of the fashion styles we see are:
  • The Romantic Look
  • Mod Retro
  • Bohemian Style
  • Classy Black
  • Military Chic
Many prefer to stick with one style that they are comfortable with, others celebrate a different style for each outfit. How you choose to express your style/s is of course, entirely up to you. But regardless of your style preferences we've outlined a few trendy pieces that you can add to your wardrobe to either create a style or update the one you already have.

The Romantic Look
The Romantic Look is characterized by ruffles, poet sleeves, 3/4 length Dolman sleeves and high collars. Delicately printed dresses and skirts, especially floral prints are hot items for the romantic look. A jacket like this cute one from Tabeez totally fits the bill...it has both ruffles AND beautiful sleeves. What could be better? You could also pick the Ruffle Blouse by Diviine Modestee (shown above). With its ruffled high collar and satin bowtie sleeves this blouse is the epitomy of the Romantic Look. It can be paired with a skirt (I posted previously about the lady I sat behind who wore this blouse with a velvet grey skirt and it was GORGEOUS!) and even jeans. Add a great silver chain necklace with an assortment of soldered silver charms and you are set.

Next post....Mod Retro. Stay tuned!
Photo shoot for new dresses is done. Perfect sunny weather over the weekend. Dresses should be here in a week! More info on them to come.
