Dive into Divinita Sole Swimwear

Our new 2011 Swimwear line is in the house!  You can see all the new styles, prints and colors at:
One of the new colors that we are very excited about this year is black.  Our customers (you!) have been requesting black for a while now and we are happy to oblige!  We've done one design in solid, classic black is our Flounce Halter shown on the right.  This new halter design has full-body ruching, great for camouflaging.  We've got this halter in the black or also in a vibrant turquoise.  There are, of course, matching black bottoms and black swimskirts.
We have a new bikini bottom to introduce this year as well...the Ruched Side Bikini.  I have a crush on this new bikini, it is just that cute!  The height on the stomach is just right, the ruching on the side is flattering and also draws attention AWAY from the lower belly.  It's on the left in Berry Pink with another new design for 2011, the Double Ruffle Halter in Plaid.

We are proud of our swimwear.  Why? Many reasons, but among them:
*All our fabric patterns our designed by us and created especially for us.  You won't find these same prints anywhere else!
*Our swimwear is fully-lined, front AND back.  The full lining helps in a couple of ways: it keeps the top from rolling up, that extra layer ensures that others won't see every little lump and bump of *coughcellulitecough* AND ensures that your swimsuit will never be see-thru.  In designing swimwear, we really put the extra effort in making sure that our swimsuits are just that much better than the rest.

Sale! Sale! Sale!

Tasha and I have been busy in the warehouse getting ready for our Warehouse Sidewalk Sale this weekend.  Preparing for a Warehouse Sale takes a ton of work...moving merchandise forward in the warehouse, pricing stuff, hanging dresses and swimwear on racks...it's crazy, but SO worth it.  Our company can move product and our customers get the benefit of great bargains.  Items added to our Warehouse Sale:

*Camisoles-white, cream, black, brown, red, etc and etc. will be 45% off

*Dresses-some as low as $20!  Carmen, Kate, Audrey, Grace, Sadie, MaKenna....

*Best of all (in my opinion) is 2010 swimwear about 60% off! Teal...Purple...Starburst...Cocoa Brown...Stripes...

These aren't deodorant and makeup stained, ripped, snagged, pre-worn and returned or anything gross  and disgusting like that.  Nope, these are first quality swimsuits, dresses, and shirts!  Wowie wow wow!

If you're in Utah, be sure to come!  You'll be glad you did  :If you're not in Utah please keep an eye on our website.

Featuring Divinita Sole Swimwear...

MlnTheGap from over at Is this Modest wrote a great article called "7 Sites to Find Modest Swimwear" featuring, of course, seven modest swimwear companies.  Divinita Sole swimwear was listed right up top (I like to think it's because our suits are so adorable!).  You can read his article Here but I've c/p'd a portion of it below....

"Diviine Modestee’s entry into the swim category is through their own swimwear department.  The main feature of this site is its “Design Your Perfect Suit” option that allows you to pick a top, bottom and skirt and shows the set together virtually so you can mix and match your options.
Styles for tops are Halter, Ruched and Tankini.
What I like about these suits is the fact that it naturally pairs itself with a skirt, though halter tops usually are a bit revealing in my opinion.  I’ve quickly gone through them, however, and most of them are generally modest."

Thank you Adam for the write-up and the great review!

How to Pick a Swimsuit

A while back we had one of the writers over at RealMomsRealViews write up a swimsuit review for us. Crissa wrote one of the best reviews I think I have ever read online, complete with photos of herself. Now that's brave! I asked her if she wouldn't mind if I brought her write-up over to our blog and she said she wouldn't mind at all. Hopefully she remembers....

Here's Crissa in her very own words:

Diviine Modestee allowed me to design my very own suit fit just for my style. This was hard to make a decision because everything is adorable. After much debate and a few opinions from co-workers I went with the Purple Dots Ruffle Halter top and Purple Dots Banded Midrise bottoms. They fit perfectly and cover up everything I don’t want strangers seeing. P1020396Here is a close up of the top. Look how cute those ruffles are! This is a great top for big chested women. The halter provides great support. Also, I really appreciate how it isn’t low cut. I like to keep some things to myself, you know.P1020400

The back is cut high. This allows you to still get a great tan but doesn’t expose too much to the world.P1020398

The bottoms are the highest cut to help lengthen the leg. Great for me because I have muscular dancer legs. In the back it is full coverage. Perfect for me because I love my ice cream but don’t need the world to know that.

P1020399

The waist band is the highest height. This is perfect for tummy control and minimizing hips. But look! It can be folded down to provide comfort for those of us who struggle with things sitting up to high on our waist.

P1020406 P1020403

Not only do I love the styles and materials of Diviine Modestee swimming suits, I love that you can mix and match them! Buy a pair of plain bottoms and match it with several different tops and vice versa! This is a great way to keep your summer pool side wear different without having to own 15 different suits. I will be a loyal customer for sure! It is nice to not have spend hours searching for the perfect suit.

Thanks Crissa! Isn't she cute in her swimsuit??!! I love how she picked purple that goes so well with her blonde hair and skin tone. She's going to be one stylish and gorgeous gal at the swimming pool this summer!

If anyone else is brave and wants to send me a photo of you in ANY of our products, I'd be happy to showcase you on our blog. sandy@diviinemodestee.com

Public Service Announcement

Socks and Swimsuits do not mix. Neither do Sock Suspenders and Swimsuits. For that matter neither do Clown-size Neck Bows and Swimsuits.

Thank you. That is all.

Playing at Being a Fashion Journalist

As many of you know we recently held our very first modest swimsuit giveaway hosted by Elaine at Clothed Much. Clothed Much is a "Look What I'm Wearing Today!" blog, but with the added emphasis on modesty and frugality. I picked Elaine to host our first swimsuit giveaway because I love her sense of style and how she proves that not only do you not have to have a ton of money to invest in your closet to look fashionable but you also don't need to compromise on modesty, either.

In working together getting the swimsuit giveaway up and running I had the opportunity to talk to Elaine and interview her. Channeling my inner Dianne Sawyer I really delivered some tough questions. Here is my interview with Elaine:

DM: Hi Elaine, and welcome. Who is your Fashion Icon?

Elaine:
I actually don't have one fashion icon.. I try to receive inspiration from everywhere. I really look to fashion blogs, street style and chictopia.com for my fashion inspiration!

DM:
What defines modesty to you?

Elaine:
Modesty is not just a style choice but a lifestyle. I have learned to curb my desires and wants for what is really important - self-respect, dignity, and self-worth. Through my clothing choices and style, I want to portray to the world that I respect my body and want people to see me for who I am and not my hot body (ha!)

DM:
Describe one of your favorite outfits.

Elaine:
That's so hard!! Here's one... It's nothing special - I am just really proud of how I put the items together so they hold a special place in my closet.

DM:
That outfit looks so comfy and yet just a little more dressed up than jeans. It's perfect! In reading your blog we get an insider's view of your closet but tell us a little about YOU.

Elaine:
I was born in Seoul, Korea but immigrated to the states, specifically, Philadelphia, with my family when I was younger. I now live in Salt Lake City, UT with my dear husband of two years. I like to stare at my sewing machine and pretend to know how to use it. I like thrifting - I'm not very good at it but I like to think I am getting better!

DM: What are some of your favorite places to shop?

Elaine:
Deseret Industries (a local thrift store), other thrift stores, Uptown Cheapskate, ebay... I've been looking at secondhand clothing a lot more. I like to think I'm "helping" the earth...and my wallet and husband appreciate it too ;)

DM:
I'm also a big fan of eBay. What was one of your best shopping "scores"?

Elaine: This is going to be so boring and practical but definitely my secondhand Kenneth Cole Reaction coat. I've been looking for a new winter coat because my other one was too poofy and made me look like a marshmallow and so when I saw this at a consignment store for $60 I snagged it! I don't know the brand too well and I looked it up and their coats run for at least $300!!! So yeah...it was definitely a good score!!!

DM:
That IS a gorgeous coat! Jealous! If you woke up late and only had 2 minutes to throw an outfit together, what would you put on?

Elaine:
Hahaha that happens to me a lot often than you'd think...... I'd wear my J Brand jeans, Hanes men's v-neck, Geox flats (if it is warm outside) or my Tsubo boots, and my leopard print scarf! That is my default outfit...it has never failed me! ;)

DM: Thank you so much Elaine for stopping by. Since I already had a leopard print scarf, you inspired me to purchase a white v-neck Tee (on clearance!) and I now have a go-to outfit for those mornings when I don't want to think about what to wear to work!

Ready....Set....Swim!

The new 2010 Diviine Modestee swim line is HERE! We've been working hard in the warehouse the last week getting ready for this big day. Unloading the shipment, taking inventory, unpacking, etc, etc. Hard work... broke several nails down to the nub, dropped a box on my toe...just to have everything ready for our big launch. You can, of course, see it all on our website but here's a quick preview of a couple of my favs:

This is one of the new designs called Ruffle Square Halter and this particular fabric is called Purple Circles. For those of you who've loved our Square Halter, you will love this one as well. Same great coverage (especially for a halter), same great full support but with added cute ruffles. She's also wearing the Boy Brief which has a little lower cut on the leg, but still more flattering than the boyshort length.

This picture I already posted on Facebook yesterday as a preview, but I am showing it again because it's my absolute favorite. This is the suit that I am doing my Summer Swimsuit Shapeup for. The Ruffle Banded Halter, is another new style shown above in purple and available in several other colors and it is adorable. I will think I have died and gone to heaven if I can look like the model in mine! This is (I think) one of the only v-neck halters on the market that comes high enough to not show any cleavage. The ruffle at the neckline adds even more subtle coverage so that it is a modest swimsuit, but yet stylish and definitely not frumpy.

Ok...a couple more:

The classic Square Halter in Teal Waves. This is a suit style that by popular demand we have done for several years in a row but in different colors. An adorable modest swimsuit with great cleavage coverage and support.

Now for some fun prints...this one is the Purple Zigzag print. I really like this print: from far away it looks like zigzags as you can see, but up close it has a whole different pattern, almost like snakeskin only so much more beautiful. This is the Banded Halter with the Ruffle Swim Skirt.

I really like this pattern called Teal Starburst. These "starbursts" are the coolest design, not stars, not quite flowers, but not quite simply retro circles either. Just trust me...it's the BEST. I got to give this Square Halter and Banded Midrise a trial run last November in Hawaii and I got a lot of compliments on it at the pool. Funny thing was that amid all the ladies also in their swim attire, I was covered the most and yet (in my opinion) had the cutest suit there!

This is another pattern called Bubbles shown with the Banded Halter and Ruffle Skirt again. It's a fun, colorful, playful print that we've done on several styles including the Banded Halter and the Ruched Tankini with Sash. All are adorable done in this print!

These are only a handful of the new suits and colors that we have ready to go. So if you have a cruise planned, a winter trip to a warmer place or just think ahead to summer better than the average person, you need to either come by our store or head to Diviine Modestee's website.
